Sapan Minanga is a sub-region of Toraja which boasts nearly all of the needed elements of agro-ecology that create great coffee. Iron-rich, volcanic soil, cool nighttime temperatures, and predictable rainfall all combine to produce a great coffee. This area of Sulawesi has been growing coffee since the Dutch introduced the plant in the 1850s and now produces some of the finest coffees coming from Indonesia. Using the traditional Giling Basah (wet-hulled) process and detailed sorting has brought a full bodied, yet clean tasting beauty of a coffee, to our doorstep.
