Laos - Bolavens Plateau - Vienna RoastCoffee Exchange
Fair Trade / Organic
Flavor Notes: Dark Chocolate, Nuts
The Bolavens Plateau, in southern Laos, is very rich in agriculture, coffee being only one of many crops cultivated. Coffee started being grown on the Plateau under French rule in the early 1900’s and high quality production lasted until the war years in the 1950’s. With support and help from the French government the Bolavens Plateau Coffee Producers Cooperative (CPC) was formed in 2007 and now has nearly 2000 grower/members. This resurgence of high quality production is enhanced by a dedicated and hardworking team at the CPC who address the needs of not just the buyers and quality of coffee, but also the growers’ quality of life.
We at The Coffee Exchange are lucky to be one of the very few roasters in North America bringing this Fair Trade - Organic coffee to you as a medium-dark Vienna roast. The coffee is delicious and unassuming with notes of dark chocolate and nuts not unlike our Costa Rican vienna roast offering.
